Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, every public authority has a duty to adopt and maintain a scheme which relates to the publication of information by the authority (referred to as a “publication scheme”) and is approved by the Information Commissioner.
The Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP), in line with all public authorities, has in place a ‘publication scheme’ which has been approved by the Information Commissioner. The Scheme is essentially a guide to the information the Department routinely makes available, or will make available, how to access it and whether a fee is payable – full details of the “scheme” can be viewed at www.dfpni.gov.uk
CPD's contribution to the Departmental Publication Scheme includes the publication of information which falls under the following categories:-
- CPD as an organisation
- Consultation
- Customer Information and External Guidance
- Policy and Strategy
- Internal Guidance and Procedures
